Ger Gulikers werd geboren in Maastricht op 30 september 1946. Hij begon zijn beroep als ontwerper en illustrator in Amsterdam.
Daarna werkte hij ruim 30 jaar samen met fotografen, door zijn werk als art-director bij een media-onderneming. Het dagelijkse contact met professionele fotografie stimuleerde zijn interesse voor dit medium.
Hij volgde de opleiding fotografie aan de Fotovakschool in Apeldoorn, waarmee hij zijn creatieve achtergrond technisch aanvulde. Daarna was hij ook als commercieel fotograaf actief. Momenteel maakt hij uitsluitend autonome fotografie.
Vergankelijkheid, stilte en eenzaamheid zijn kenmerkend voor dit werk. Het is een zoektocht naar de ziel van alles waarin emotie en gevoel centraal staan.
De waarneming van onderscheidende elementen in landschappen en in natuurlijke stillevens. Het zien van details in alles wat door mensen, gewild en ongewild, is gecreëerd en is achtergelaten.
Dat, waar iedereen aan voorbij gaat zonder te worden waargenomen, maar waarin een eigen schoonheid schuilt.

Ger Gulikers was born in Maastricht September 30, 1946. He started his profession as a designer and illustrator in Amsterdam.
Afterwards he worked over 30 years with photographers as an Art-Director at a media company. His daily contact with professional photography stimulated his interest for this kind of medium. He studied photography at the Fotovakschool in Apeldoorn, where he supplemented mechanical knowhow to his creative background. He was also active as a commercial photographer. momentary he only works as an autonomous photographer.
Parishableness, silence and loneliness are the key words for this work. The search to the soul of everything where emotions and feelings take a central position. The perception of various elements in landscapes and natural still life. Seeing details in everything that is created by human, wanted and unwanted, and is left behind. That, what is passed by everyone without being observed, has its own beauty.
